The Magical Moments Curriculum is a comprehensive, hands- on, brain based guide earmarked for early childhood educators and home-schooled children. The guide facilitates a teacher’s planning from before the children arrive to school to the very last day of the school year. The program is divided into age appropriate themes that begin with the concept of the child (feelings, senses, and body) and then move forward to include the family, community, seasons, holidays, famous artists, and more.
The themes are usually one week in length and include ideas for circle time, math, science, social studies, music, the creative arts, language, stories,games, and more.
The goals of the curriculum are attained by tuning into how children learn best. We balance the day between active/quiet times, base learning activities on the senses, remain cognizant that young children learn by doing, by playing, and by being immersed into the process. The guide suggests techniques to utilize in order to create an exciting evironment that is filled with consistency, security, love, and harmony.
Truly, Magical Moments is a fitting name for the curriculum for it creates magic for the children as they learn and play and confidence for the teachers that they are providing the best possible ideas, activities, stories, songs, and projects that will enable their students to grow emotionally, socially, and cognitively while having fun, being kind, and feeling joyous.
